MYC November Recap

Here is what MYC was up to in November

The Monadnock Youth Coalition youth group met every Thursday to help create content for MYC’s social media, develop and practice a refusal skills workshop for Keene Middle School, and research the Great American Smoke out.

smoking remains the single largest preventable cause of death and illness in the world. MYC’s director, Meghan Marcucci tabled at Keene High and Monadnock Regional Middle High school to spread awareness for youth tobacco and nicotine use. This was in celebration for Great American Smoke out which is a day to start the journey to be smoke-free.

The adult and youth members volunteered at the Community Kitchen to help serve over 140 plates to Keene community members.

MYC also had the amazing opportunity to partner with New Futures NH and provide and free advocacy training where we had 12 adult and youth members attend.

Some things to look forward too in December:

  1. Weekly youth group meetings in the MYC office at the Keene Family YMCA from 4:30-5:30pm
  2. Adult Coalition meeting December 15th at the Savings Bank of Walpole on Marlborough Street in Keene from 4-5pm.

We are always looking for more adult and youth members so, if you’re interested in learning more about MYC please email MYC coordinator, Gianna Ricco at [email protected].
