Red Ribbon Week 2022!!

Red Ribbon Week 2022 is here! (Oct 23-31) It's time to celebrate life and be drug free!

Red Ribbon Week 2022 is here! What is Red Ribbon Week? The Red Ribbon Campaign® is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week®, October 23rd – October 31st each year.

The Red Ribbon Campaign® was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign® is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG – FREE AMERICA.

Kiki Camarena dedicated his life to help make a difference. When he decided to join the US Drug Enforcement Administration, his mother tried to talk him out of it. “I’m only one person”, he told her, “but I want to make a difference.”

The Monadnock Youth Coalition is also dedicated to help make a difference in the Monadnock Region. Our youth work hard every week to help spread awareness about youth substance use. This week we have the oppurtuinity to table and talk about the importance of Red Ribbon Week to our local schools and at the Keene Family YMCA.

MYC invites you to join us Thursday October 27th, 2022 at the Keene Family YMCA from 4:30-5:30 pm where we will be passing out cool free swag and prizes in celebration of Red Ribbon Week. We will also have a pledge for everyone to sign to pledge to be drug free! We hope to see you there!
